Paediatric clinical Research Infrastructure Service Model

A coordinated, transnational ecosystem supporting paediatric clinical research across Europe and Canada.

Children make up 14% of Europe's population, yet remain significantly under-represented in clinical research — a gap that highlights the need for a coordinated, transnational ecosystem of infrastructures and service organisations.

PRISM brings together 23 organisations from Europe and Canada to change this, offering end-to-end support — from study design to execution — for multinational paediatric clinical trials.

PRISM at a glance

One consortium, two continents

Coordinated by ECRIN, PRISM unites 23 partners: clinical research infrastructures, hospital networks, universities, digital health SMEs, patient organisations and school associations from Europe and Canada.

Three access routes

Full operational support for selected trials (TNA1 — Transnational Access for study execution), upstream methodological consulting (TNA2), and virtual access to digital and AI-powered tools (VA1).

A lasting infrastructure

Beyond the project's lifetime, PRISM will establish a digital marketplace and a joint access mechanism, sustaining support for paediatric clinical research in Europe and Canada long after the funding period ends.
